I could not publish the May Newsletter due to Comcast being down at my house for
over a week, and then online for 1 day and down for another week. It took them
all that time to determine that there was an internal server problem. – Hello
Knology.

We had 9 members (5 cars) making the trip this year. As usual, the Savannah
club put on a great gathering. This year, several of the tour routes including
a couple of laps around a local racetrack. This year the cars were parked in
the convention center across the river from Savannah. A water ferry was
provided for Gathering participants, so once the cars were parked, we could go
‘sightseeing’ and ‘shopping’. Evidently the increase in price from previous
years ($25 to $50), was to cover the cost security and insurance. It was well
worth it, because the flying, biting insects that we experienced previously at
the Old Fort Jackson were not present. With the exception of running short on
food at dinner (which I believe was caused by greedy people, and the fault of
the Savannah club), the Gathering was lots of fun with great variety of
Corvettes. Those of you, who have not made this annual gathering, are missing a
fun time.

Russell Blandin has been contacted by Bill Whitten from the Mall. He would like
the club to display our cars over the 4th Of July weekend. Bill would like to
have about 15 cars! I am attaching a portion of Russell’s email
'I am glad to announce
to everyone that the Mall Show is a reality for this year. Have selected "4th
of July" celebration for the week to display the cars. Not much time so we have
to get busy. Cars go in the mall Wednesday night, July 3rd and come out Sunday
night, July 7th. What a better way to celebrate a national day of independence
than with "America's" sport scar. We need approximately 15 cars. I urge
everyone to shine them up and put them on display next month. Please let Ron or
myself know as soon as possible that you plan to participate.’
This is our first opportunity to display our cars in a couple of years and I
think that we should take full advantage of this opportunity. Again, let
Russell or myself know if you plan to show your car a soon as possible. TIME IS
SHORT!!!!!
