As I recall an interview with the mid america he did get it from a car museum, which is the movie car the one randy is in, the only one I have every seen in any pictures anywhere.... In the interview he complained of it being no fun to drive because the steering wheel in a very low fixed position....The mako rebodies are a super rare yet production limited custom but you see ads in magazines and although there are not many there are a few owners who have met thanks to the net...I have never seen ads for Korky fiberglass, not to say I didn't miss them I'm seeking them lets see some pictures.... Cheers, t.

From that link:The other car was sold to the Corvette Americana Museum in Cooperstown, New York. This museum went out of business in late 1997 and the cars have subsequently disappeared. Mid America Designs (MAD) has the Cooperstown one.
You know, the Corvette Americana Museum had a Mako Shark II. I wonder what happened to that car ??? "Randy"

Randy, that's a great question since even GM no longer has a Mako shark II, The one running MS2 GM had was restyled into the GM Mantaray, that car had that all aluminum 427 must have been fun to drive ...however I don't recall which forum but someone posted pics saying it was GM's MS2 they had seen at a show it turned out to be the restyled Mantaray....and they admitted that after I mentioned it.... I did hear the GM mantaray was on loan to a Museum years back... GM has a rather nasty habit of cutting up and distroying old show cars, We know from books and records there was just the one MS2 that ran the other was a mock-up that I have read was distroyed, sometimes reading it doesn't make it true, what was the name of that rear not mid engine vette GM tried in the 60's...XP something or another looked like a cross between a mako and a gt-40 anyhoo GM ordered it distroyed after it proved poor handling even with the aluminum v-8 behind the rear wheels, lol, it was cut into pieces and someway ended up behind a body shop where the parts sat for many years as donor fiberglass then a person who knew what it could be got it and dropped a pile of $$$ to rebuild it, GM was not pleased....the story I read of it in "vette" I believe it was... went on to say that the rebuild had an iron block engine which made for a true wheelie machine....My point being is we know the MS2 was restyled but we dont know what really happened to the mock up.... Cheers, T. Wonder if Bill Mitchell could drop by here one day?

I've seen the mako with the cut out louvers for rear window cleaning and side windows I read details in paper work Harry sent me from Silva, these were all options, the only way I could live with the louvered mako rear is if the louvers came off for cleaning....thats why for now I dig my louvers on my 78-82 rear window, better for daily use for me....I don't care for the side windows, randy filled his in, wise move if you ask me.The CSC...people love it or hate it...the hood scoop would be hard to live with for daily use.... cheers, t
