I know this thread is a few years old, but I humbly admit to knowing more about the CS movie cars than probably anyone else on the planet. If anyone has a question about the cars, feel free to ask. I am also the first person to ever create a screen-accurate replica. Since molds were required to make the light-weight one-piece body panels, I have sold about 5 sets to carefully chosen people. By the end of 2007 or 2008 there should be a few high-quality replicas running around, and a couple of those are bound to get some media or internet attention. If you care to follow the process of my paint, click on the web site of the shop that is doing the finishing work: http://www.performancerestorations.com/csinprocesspics.html or check back at my web site address for a site that is in development which will have tons of never-been-seen-before content. That site is http://www.corvettesummer.net. In case you are curious, I was able to track down the only known remaining mold in the world, which was for the hood scoop section only. I acquired it and had shipped to me from Australia. It was created from the original "primary" movie car in 1983 after that car was nearly destroyed in a transport accident.

Thanks guys. I appreciate that. I wasn't sure if this thread was still "alive", since the last entry was a few years ago. All I can say is that I have a much greater respect for anyone who starts a serious street rod project, and does their best to hang in there. I am approaching my 6th year now, and if I wasn't so close to being done I probably would have considered throwing in the towel. If you checked out the Performance Restoration web site, those are some of the most current pics. Body work is done; car is prepped and ready for paint. I am going down there this week to insert lenses and discuss final paint strategy. I'm looking forward to getting some paint on this thing after all this effort. Once the car is done, I will put all of my content together for what should be a spectacular Corvette Summer web site. I'm looking forward to that too, but want to wait until the car is done so I can include finished pics. Attachments
