The Volo Museum in Illinois was the sole bidder on the fake CS car. They haven't even took posession of the car yet, and it's already listed on their web site under the For Sale section with an expanded misleading description about it. Wow. Talk about "buyer beware". It's no big secret that a lot of museum's cars are just replicas being touted as authentic. But I would have a real hard time buying a car from a museum that obviously greatly exagerates the provenance of a car. Not good. Just my $.02

Build it the way you want it and drive it like you Stole it Hi Yall, I know I'm alittle late on this post. I had a CS bodied car with the tilt front end but the fiberglass was very thick a half in or more. The only difference on the hood was this car had the scoop top removed and the center was cut out and built up around to put a blower out of the hood. The t-tops had bowties cut out in the t-tops. The back of the car had a giant bowtie across the back. The car had moulded in side pipes and a big wing on the roof over the back of the t-top area and a wing built into the rear of the car. This was alittle more modified than the CS car. This car was a show car many years ago with left hand drive and a matching numbers 1971 body and 454 motor and turbo 400. The under carrage suspension was chromed and the wheels were chrome spoke wheels. My friends had the car for probably 6 or 7 years and the car had been apart for years. This car was probally built 10 or 15 years ago. I sold the car to a corvette dealer last year at the Old Town NCRS. The point being that someone had to build the front clips many years ago. Good luck on finding out new info on the cars.
