Thats good news. bad link on the website....
Website working and email is good. Korky would love to hear from his friends. He built one or two Corvette Summer replicas while in semi retirement in Arizona for a few years. We are putting a new website together for him with all his movie and custom cars, he is back in Los Angeles now. If you have an interest in his cars, or his work, please let him know. If you want "Corvette Summer" parts, I believe he has the molds; he never sold the cars or rights to the cars to the studios. I will update exactly where the cars are on his new site. Korky owns the rights to the intellectual property associated with those cars.www.korkyskustomstudios.com / korkyskustom@gmail.com Thanks, JM / former employee. BTW - Korky has done more famous cars than most people know. I was moving a red caddy convertible one day and I wondered who the car belonged to, I looked in the glove compartment and there was a wallet. Opened it up and a DL... Marvin Gaye. Built or worked on so many cars… Farrah Faucett, Elton John, Sony and Cher, Green Mamba jet dragster, Piranha Corvettes, NFL helmet carts, MLB Cap/Ball carts, Harry Bradley’s car, Bat Cycle, Batmobile (korky other guys are the true builders of the bat car at Barris' shop) and the list goes on and on and on…. Watch for his new site with all his cars. There is a designer putting the website together now. (7/09)

Okay, here's something you're sure to have never seen before. It's a newspaper article from 1983 with photos showing the CS car and replica shop teacher's suburban that plowed into a lake off the highway. This is one of the earliest verifiable sources that prove that the primary movie car went to Australia. Up until a few years ago when I began my research, there were only rumors about what happened to the other car. I have since gathered documentation that supports perhaps more of the history of the primary car in Australia, than the backup car that is here in the US. Yes, that's a crane lifting the transport truck out of the lake, and a diver getting ready to plunge in the second photo.
Hello all, I just joined today after finding this site Googling 'Corvette Summer'. I had heard about the crash but never saw pictures before. Interestingly, the rear bow tie lens shows what looks to be 'Corvette' instead of 'Sting Ray' from the movie car. Any thoughts on that?
