Thanks for the compliment, I only hope that after I graduate here in 8 months I will be able to help out as much as everyone's comments on their projects have already helped me. Doing what I can to track down info on the push button shifting these cars used. I'm sure once I find out how it worked on those other cars it can be adapted to fit the applications you guys have in your cars.

Plymouth had the PowerFlite & TorqueFlite while Ford
had the Teletouch. I know the Teletouch was both the
Steering columb and Tranny to make it work. I don't
believe it would work without both installed. Other
systems I am un-aware about.

My goals are to have a GM set up with a turn shifter
on the steering wheel where the horn would be, like
on the prototype MSII.

The more and more I think about it, the more I believe
that it will be un-achievable or at lest with a GM set
up.

Ok, well I won't promise anything, but I am looking into it. Will post back on this thread if/when I find anything out. I know that I could design something really simple and reliabe, but then it won't look stock without some hard work in the steering column, and it definitely won't work the same way the stock version did. It sounds like if you do this you want it to be close to stock.

If you look at the very first image I posted in this thread,
the black and white one, Is that stock or close enough to
stock looking to you? If so then yes but, there is a section
of the steering columb where this adaptation hardware might
be located yet continuing like a round block appearing like
a stock extention of the columb.

One other thing, lol, I know this may throw a monkey
wrench into the design but, I'd like to incorperate
telescopic & tilt steering.

The gift horse is glaring at me. I know.

Hmm... Tilt. Telescopic.. Shifter on wheel... An all in one
product as easy to install as a columb and a shift kit....
I wonder?

With the after market crowd this would be a
grosslly huge product that could create some cash flow.
Could turn out to be an unforeseen bonus but, not now that
I'v mentioned it and ruined all hopes for that.

In this image, can you see the twist shift where otherwise a
horn would be? I also noticed on the wing shaped wheel,
two twist controls that would operate things like wipers,
wiper fluid, lighting and possibly the rear window auto slat
shut switch. In 65 I think it might of included cruse control
as well. Thats some switches packed into those.

Leaves ya thinkin bout how GM could of done all that back then.

Snickering... Remember three on the tree, well another
idea came to mind. Manuel shifting on the steering. lol
Just couldn't shift while turning.

Manual shifting could easily be achieved with paddles

I'll just stick to the automatic shifting on the steering
if I can just get that, I'll be fine.

You know much fun could be had in manuel I know but, even
some Callaways came auto's. I agree wholeheartedly with
Rockcrusher but, my "Goals" to achive an exact duplicate
of the MSII takes precedence over fun manuel shifting.

it's kinda funny since most new technologies get inspired from the past!

this is a F-1 Ferrari steering wheel
