After reading this again, with the technological advances in the last few years, why not a voice command shifter? (I've got a tablet pc I can talk to and it does the typing.) Then what about steering? Talk about uncluttered. There have already been experiments with drive by wire roadways. Computers run most function of your new cars anyway. Somehow taking a nap while my car drives me to word is appealing, but doesn't sound like very much fun. I like feeling the wheel in my hands, and wish I had a 6 on the tree. Paddle shifting would work for me.

After seeing the Terminator trilogy, I'm a little uncomfortable giving my car that much control. /:\

I'm not trying to have my car drive me, I still want to drive
but I do want to set up my Mako with the concept's steering wheel
controls and shifing. Thats all I'm trying to figure out how to
do. If GM made a vehicle with this setup it wouldn't be so hard
for me to figure out, only because they didn't it has.
