I ordered 1 high beam unit and 1 low beam unit, as they are different lengths. Will start the design as soon as they arrive. Looking at doing a high, low, and directional to each side, all round. Now that I have an idea about the design for the front, I am also getting into a fever pitch about what I am going to do with the rear tail lights and backups. Am pulling together ideas, but don't want stock or bubbles. 3 tail lights to each side, no backup in any of the 3, but have Rick's backup idea in mind. Also have Carl's LED system in my file. Looking at trying to find a 5" flat lens that I can use...remember back in the late 70's or early 80's when 5" flat aftermarket lenses were available for Vettes? I wonder if there is a source for something of that sort, as I can only find 4", 6", 7", & 8", but no 5". Well, anyway...Merry Christmas!!

Thanks for the thoughts Carl...I will check on Tap Plastics, but it seems that I looked at their site awhile back and it was pretty pricey having them do a "one-off". Will check again, because I am getting ready to do the design work. I like the idea of doing my own. One idea is to maybe keep the original light bases, use the new Spider LED Lights which just plug into the original 1157 sockets, and customize the original style lenses. Have read feedback on using the flourescent lamp diffusers as a way of breaking up the light, and some say it only dulls the light output, not breaking it up like a prismed reflector would. I have a couple old light fixture diffusers laying around from my days as an electrician, so will try it before giving up on that idea. Another idea I have is to buy one of the 4" or 4.5" aftermarket lenses, then design a 5" lens holder that could be made from fiberglass and painted to match the car. This lens could then go over the diffuser with your set-up using red LED's. Last idea is to design and build the complete 5" housing from scratch...bucket, lamp assembly, and lens. This may end up being the best. Still thinking, but sure appreciate your input. I like what you did with your lights...what material did you use to make your flat lenses and where did you source it from? Thanks, Marv.
