Hi Sharkrider- I have a 68 that I took to Silva in 71 for the conversion. Im pretty sure mine has the original posts and post receivers glassed to the hood on the top rear area. . Uses the orig hood release cable.I have seen some cars with locks or pins on the side of the hood, to try to pull in sides that didnt fit right. My fiberglass is really think so its not an issue on mine.
Be carefull if youre thinking of modyifying pedals, esp the clutch because those leverage ratios are calculated so that the disc will be totally free when depressed. . If you do change it, maybe you can check to make sure that the disc is frww. It wouldnt be easy, the trans would have to be out and I still dont think youd have access with the one peice bellhousing, youd have to take a look. Sounds like a project to me. And I never noticed my pedals being high. I put like 50 thou miles on my car. Theres not a lot of legroom so if you have long legs, that could be part of it. Guess you could put firebird pedals in it lol (kidding!).
If you have any questions as to what was the original way that Silva did his, let me know.
