So thats what those three switches are for at the bottom of the dash under the steering. Cool... Thanks for the extra info Randy, I've always wondered what those were for.

I'm trying to figure out what this is for. Structure, or for mounting

What this is for is if your current Maco style hood doesn't have a good latch system, this is OEM manufacture style with the pin and spring setup.

On my Mako it had locks where the hood and cowls meet but the lock are no longer there. In my case I could fill in the holes and purchase this kit that David referenced to and have a more stable Hood latch and lock.

I'd asked before about the pros and cons in this thread. Post # 7
Looks like a good direction to go.

If you look close that is not the oem design. the front of the hood has a huge mass that probably holds some sort of rod mounting set up for a tilt front.

TruDat, but McBrain is correct that it provides a way to have "OEM manufacturer-style latch system with the pin and spring setup".

It also provides a good anti-flex system. I wonder if he actually has this part, as it looks useful for the Maco front-end or even the Eckler's tilt as shown.

I'm trying to stay on topic.
Again from my archives...Amelias car, I may have shot these before she bought the car. All of the photos you see were shot at the Knoxville Corvette Expo a few years back.
Sorry, I have to re edit my posts to get the photos the right size so they aren't too large.

I am lacking this hood latch system and I want to put it on mine badly. Thats why I started inquireing about a hood latch system because mine had this lame ass sidelock crap on the cowl or quarter panel which ever you prefer to call it.
