just wanted to announce officially that my Mako-dream can start over.
Finally after more then 2 months we, me and Steven Kuryla, found a donor car.
Had a few minutes ago a talk with the seller, at 4am !!!

It's in fine condition for what we planned to do with it.
73 Vette 4-speed (yes a 4-speed as i allways wanted):

• New Crate motor with 69-Block; 5 miles on it
  
• New exhaust front till back; 200 miles on it
  
• New Gastank; 5 miles on it
  
• New Tires; 200 miles on it
  
• New MSD-ignition/Box/Coils
  
• New Radiator with electric Fan
  
• Frame in excellent condition
  
• Runs strong and sounds good; is driveable
  
• Seats are there
  
• Comes with ralley wheels; so my 70 Hubcaps will have use
  
• Complete dash is gone
  

Sorry Wayne i didn't went with yours.
I was then afraid not to manage with the wiring.
But somehow you took me that fear too and also the overall mechanical condition of this 73 let me pass that fear.
Also can sell the whole rear-clip to get additional money to spend for other interior stuff.
And the whole front later on i can sell too with the vacuum system and the headlights. All that stuff wont be needed.

Now i'm struggling if i will go with a original C3 dash or build one from scratch in C2-style. But have some time to decide. LOL.
For the moment the C2 dash-idea is stuck in my head.

So what remains then:
MAKING A HAPPY DANCE AROUND THE KITCHEN TABLE.
And a wife behind who believes i am crazy. LOL.

Right when Steven called to discuss the details for picking up the idiot told him he sold the car 10 minutes ago.

After two personal phone calls with that seller he tought i'm a scammer.
Maybe the next time i have to send also a copy of my swiss passport that people get rid of their paranoia.

Wasn't the 1st time a car "passed by". But as you sayd the right one will pop up some day.
It's just not making fun anymore to search around without a result.

Would like much more to see progres on the car.

Started allready on the front.
Draw the whole thing in 3D to experiment a bit with possible grill-styles.
Now know what i want and have to take real measurements to let it get produced by a company which a friend is leading.

Also will do a frontspoiler from scratch which should improve the airflow to the cooler trough a opening at the lower panel.

The 3D-drawing i will use also to find out the best angle for the hinges.
Not sure if i'll use the original ones.
Probably not.

That was a crappy thing to happen... keep your head up. I've often found that in retrospect, what now seems bad can later seems good...
