Everywere were are dark spots i put filler.
Had to fix a lot of edges and on some corners to build up missing pieces.

Still it's not perfect, but good to go.
This was all done during last week and last monday.

The fiberglass guy received the mould on monday evening.
Soon will leave and going to see how far he is allready.
He planned to be ready with all till tomorrow evening.
Then put it in the oven till friday to bake all in and tear the panel on friday in the daytime.

Will make this evening a few pictures and post tomorrow.

Greets
Robert

It's getting sticky.

1st shots of glassing:

I'll constuct a separate panel for the license plate.
Will be in european license plate format and gets bonded in after Steve teared a new mould from my rearend.

Was thinking to make also another separate panel with a sunk in Mako script. This could also get bonded in beetwen the rear lights. In the sunken Mako script area could be screwd the metal Mako Shark script. Think could look pretty cool.

Greetings
Robert

Hi Volks,

i just say......sniff sniff ==> sticky sticky

Right side and middle (boattail) is in the 1st pictures allready layered with 6 layers of glass, gets something about 4mm thickness.
Made the fotos while glassing the left side.
The glass guy did put not too much hardener that he has more time before it cures. Hugh task to glass such a big piece manually at one time.

It's just pretty cool, and actually i like very much to smell the resin:

a picture from the complete rearend:

Short update:

The rearend is finished and came out of the mould with just minor flaws which easily can be fixed. Yeeah!

Also the mould itself remained only with minor flaws.

My biggest concern was that the rearend would have be "smashed" out of the mould with force.

Ufff uffff...... done.

I will post tommorrow pictures of the new born rearend.

Greetings
Robert

After 36 years a new rearend came out of the mould constructed in 1977.
I let speek the piece itself.

But yes, had a BIG grin in my face.

Greetings
Robert
