Have again a few technical questions.

1st. Does a Gas Lid Door from a 66 fit onto a C3 ?

2nd. Has anybody some experience what could be the better choice of sideexhaust.
- 69 Corvette style aluminezed sidepipes
- complete stainless steel headers and mufflers
Specially i'm interested in loudness (endurable) and performance ??

I'm going to guess there is considerable distance between you and Steven? Say California to Europe? My advise would be to be careful.

We booth, me and Steven, was carefull at the begining till we knew each other better.
Now we fully trust in each other.

Again a little update.

The idea with the 66 gas lid door will be built in.
Booth the Hooker- and original-sideexhaust is canceled. Instead a complete new exhaust will be built from 3inch tube and cherry bomb mufflers. And of course covered by 69 side-exhaust covers out of fiberglass for which Steven already has a mould.

Well, the point of no return has come.
Steven started to dissamble the car.
The seats, carpets and a few others things are already out.

Soon much more news and progress will be available true the Webpage we set up. Planned is to be online this sunday.
Here's a sneek preview, can undergo some middle changes but in general this will be the site.
But even then will also post here the progress, just with less photos.

Last friday was the point of no return !
Did i had a curious feeling about that ?
YES, but in a good way.

After the front end was off i was happy to see the frame is also there in good condition.

BTW: the website for the build up is running here:

You should probably go ahead and pull the body off and rebuild all the suspension and motor and trans before building the body. Its a whole lot easier now than later. Wayne

Hi Wayne,

the body will go off to preserve the frame and paint it.

The motor and transmission is still fine. A 350cui with 128K-miles is not very much.
When it's time i will overhaul the motor for sure by myself.
When i could do it by a BMW then a simple V8 wont be a big deal.

Also the suspension will have to wait more.

Can't be done everything at once. Unfortunatelly.

128k miles on a 350 ? are you kidding ? most 350s dont make 80k.

Hi Wayne,

don't know if the motor wasn't overhauled. Anyway the Tach says 128K.
Steven meant when he drove the car that something is done on the motor.
Too strong and too much power for a standard 74-350.
But yet we don't known what was changed at the motor.

Today got some news about the progress:
- body is off
- to pull the motor is at work
- new stainless steel brake lines will be ordered

New photos i'll get within next 2 days.
I'm very spanned.

Greetings
Robert

Steve worked a lot on the car during the holidays.
Interior is out.
Also now the reardeck lid is cutted from the rear fenders and took of from the birdcage.
Also all the windshield trim is disassembled, luckily the windshield frame is in good condition.
Next is birdcage off the frame and soon sandblasting the frame and painting it.

Check out also on our website the section Nr.20 with the plans for future Makos.
