Hi guys,
finally did my decision for the interior.
The original interior will be changed into a custom one out of fiberglass.
To get a better impression i 1st draw it in a 3D program.

In general it has to look modern but with some styling elements of the C2.

It will be painted in Pagan Gold like the lower body color.
Some elements out of a carbon like fiberglass.

But see yourself (guess anyway some of you was allready on our website and seen it):

Greetings
Robert

Steve worked hard on the car.
Here a brief update what's going on.

Here a few photos of the pile of dirt and debris what came off the car.
All in all something about 50pounds !!!

The pressure wash of the frame started:

Afterwards the frame is conserved with POR-15. A special paint to prevent from rusting again. It s durable but still elastic that stones don't chip it of the frame:

A problem is spotted. A bad welding on the frame from a previous owner.
So rust prevention is stopped and this section of the frame has to be grinded down and MIG-welded again:

After that the birdcage will get off and the frame rust prevention can go further.
Also the motor soon will get off the frame and getting it's Chevy orange paint.

Hi all together,

finally the car got moved into the shop.
Steve rebuild the whole shop in summer 2010 to have it organised and clean.

The birdcage is still on the car to be abble to stear it more easy.
Next week the birdcage will get off the frame. Also the wheels and suspension.
Then restart of frame preservation with POR-15. Some suspension work and then the fun part can start.

The build up of the Mako Shark body.

Steve had a very lucky find last week.
6 western hurricane wheels for a butter&bread price, somebody wanted to throw them to the junk !
Well not for my car but for Steves 70 Mako.

Hi Guys,

this time not so good news.
More pictures to see at our website.

Yesterday steve went over to verify why there was that bad welding at the A-arm.

During removing the front suspension the problem could be located.
The alignment was done with some self fabricated shims from previous owners.

Did it work ? Yes
Was it cheap ? yes
Was it durable ? No
But now as the problem is located it will be fixed for good.
After welding the frame properly it needs to get aligned at a alignment shop who has a Laser.

And of course the junk will be replaced with new parts for the front suspension. And while at ordering some other parts too.

But all in all better to have a frame which can be aligned then a rotted one.

Hi Guys,

as we got constantly more visitors on the website for the build up, we decided to go much more inofrmation to all the steps.
OK to be correct, Steve will give much more information and tips on the basis of INDICATOR ANALYSIS.

Lately some problems with the whole suspension setup from previous owners occured.

Smashed bumpers, outworn shocks and so on.
Difficulties with the brake-system as well. Somehow just can wonder how others dare to drive around.
And also a minor problem with the cooling system appeared.

But still not some major stuff which can't be fixed.

Check yourself. Much more information on the website.
But be aware, from now on more time and patience will be needed to read all.
But i'm sure for most of you all those stuff isn't to new. LOL.

Pretty good color !!! of braking fluid. Shows how good probaly the brakes worked before.

Gives a pretty "good and stiff ride" !!!

The result of "harsh riding times"

And all body mounting bolts came off so easily.

As allways comments very welcome

Greetings
Robert

Hi Guys,

this time a major update is done on the website.

Just a brief overview here.
Maily how problems was fixed from former mechanics/owners and explications how it should have been done.

How a 36 year old wire harness looks like.

How Ignition cables was fixed and how they should be fixed.

This way it's correct.

A transmision cable the way it shouldn't be installed.

Soldering wires with silicon !!!

A wonder the motor block was still in the car and not remained somewere on the road !!!
Motor mounting bolts without nuts ?????

When Steve freaked out.......

Speaker wire used for the starter ?!?

Much more pictures and descriptions on the website.

Comments allways welcome.

Greets
Robert
