Hi Guys,

Steve started with fabricating the sidepipes.
They look pretty cool. Can't wait to hear them roar the 1st time.

Unfortunatelly the parts for the whole front-suspension even wasn't sent out. I think if i wouldn't have asked i never would got a info.
they told me that simple bushings were backordered and only arrive on the 23rd of march !!
Took me 3 minutes to choose comparable parts and told them to charge me the difference. This was yesterday. Today got again a mail and they told me that they could skip the Major-front-suspension-kit and send the parts as single parts, but damned again those missing parts the wrote down. Had to write again what i really want. Wish they understand now and send the damned pieces and make a few more bucks.

More as allways on the build up page.
Just check in the NEWS section.

Ggreetings
Robert

Allmost finished the Gaslid-Mako-Emblem.
It was a real pain to handle and add the very small and fine Mako-script, it's at some points only 0,5mm thick. It broke twice till i had it applyed.
Also to carve the little shark took more then one trial.
But now am somehow happy how it came out.
Just minor sanding on the outer rim and then the silicon mould can be done.

It's done in 2 parts.
One is the inner sphere with the Mako-script and -shark.
It will be done in clear Epoxy to backlight it with red LED's as a additional brakelight.
The outer rim can be done in chrome or the car color.

Just have when made the first cast were to put the LED's.

Greetings
Robert

I'm glad you like it.
Now as i allready did it twice, i will have to redo it a 3rd time.

Steve had the idea to cut out also the slits and let shine the red braking lights trough them. I liked that idea very much so the outer rim i will redo.

Next will be the execution of the hornbutton in the Mako-theme.
Well and aside to work on the seat shape.

Greetings
Robert

Hi Together,
the project got a bit stuck about missing pieces.
And to cold weather that Steve could lay glass.

Finally yesterday the pieces arrived and first of all Steve did a inventary.

He had to assemble a lot of pieces, most of them was packed each in a single bag.

while the shocks look so new:

decided to order F41-springs and parts to rebuild the rear suspension.

Took today the spec plates from the laser shop.
Was first pretty happy how they came out.
Unfortunately only realised at home that there's a typo in them.
The text "build by" should be "built by". No big deal as anyway those 10 plates didn't cost a lot.
So will let do tomorrow another correct batch.

This will be after correction the one for my Mako:

Talked today also with a colleague about the seats i want to carve.
He explained to me how to build a cheap and easy to do 2piece mould out of a Master-seat (which still have to carve).
After carving the shape i will sand down the Makoscript to 1mm and glue it together with the Mako-shark on the backpiece of the Master-seat. Then to put a thick layer of clear coat over all and start doing the mould out of it.
This way i only will have to carve the seat once and can do out of the mould 2 identical seatshells.
Then screwing the frame into the bottom-shells and backpiece-shells and fill them with light expanding foam.

Greetings
Robert
