"RE: maco progress" Jun-08-13, 09:56 AM (EDT) When I use gelcoat, I do all my bodywork first, and then gel over that. Works excellent. I just knock the top off of the gel with a DA sander and then block with 80 grit. I use urethane primer and reblock with 400 grit and paint. This system has always worked well for me... It got me a Duntov award, so it must be ok. Anyway you go, its a ton of work and time, time, time! Just keep going and try not to give up.
