So far I know that the car is from New York. The gentleman I bought the car from was the Second and Forth owner. He bought the car in 1971 and did the nose with in a year or two and had it in some car shows. He had a picture getting an Award when he was 22yrs. old. Then put the car in storage for several years shortly after. Not sure how long? He sold the car to his good friend with a condition that he would have to sell it back if he thought of selling. I think his friend had it for about eight years? After getting the Car back he finish the work, and had kids, So the car went back in Storage for several more years. Then I bought the car just before our first E-mails maybe about weeks ago? The car has a 454 in it now, and the stock M-21 four speed, the odometer reads 30,008 miles. I put about 1300 miles on it? I questioned if it rolled over, and he told me that those were the Original miles. The car was trailered to the West Coast, and stored alot.
I am going to contact him and see if he would send me the history on the car. I think he would have lots. He LOVES Corvette! He traillered back his other two, to the East Coast. A mid 1950's and an early 1960's... I will keep in contact and hopefully have more History about my new car. I am finding out that it needs alot of little attention. In heavy rain the driver side floor board gets water in it, passenger side too but not like the drivers side? And the passenger side exhaust manifold has a crack in it. Those are the first things I need to address? I will keep in touch, and if you have any idea how to address the water issue, I am all ears.
Thanks,
Dustin J. Caldwell Dustin James
