I thought I would share this photo that I found while I was paging though the latest issue of Hot Rod magazine. Looks like Fiberglass for the water seen some Motion treatment also. According to the article only 3 of these boats were made by Motion. You should be able to zoom if you open the photo with MS office picture manager or some other photo viewing software so you can read the article. Looks like Joel has confirmed the origination. Talk about a rare piece!

Mike- you beat me to it. I was going to have my in-law scan that for me. I saw that in my Hot Rod mag too. I never knew he did boats. Yeh- the guy stated that he has the confirmation documentation to this boat. Imagine what it is worth now. Jeolousy part here, is that he got it for free. He pulled it out of a backyard or something. Don't you just envy that guy.

I know how your feelin Scott! Gets it out of some yard covered in brush and cleans it off and realizes what it is then calls Rosen and he confirms that only three were made and it's the only one left known to exist. That's why I don't buy lottery tickets. Just another note, look at the steering wheel, it's on the left side like a car. Mostly all boats steering is on the right. Looks like a real nice restoration also.

Most all jet boats have steering on the left. That allows you to use a gas pedal instead of the hand throttle like on most boats.

Randy, I wasn't aware of that. My father has always had a boat even before I was born. He is a sport fisherman and sometimes sells catches. Back when I was 6 he had a 14" MFG Fiberglass with a 40HP Johnson outboard. Then a SportCraft 20' with I believe was a 90HP Evinrude outboard. At the present a 22' Grady White that sleeps six with a 200HP Johnson. Never realized that the jet drives were like this. My question is what happens when you start bouncing off a few waves? Do you get the cycle started when your foot gets stuck in rythm with the up and down motion and can't stop or is the gas pedal got a really strong spring? Just wondering and next time I am down at a boat yard or marina I need to check this out. I may even go look at a dealer to see. Thanks for the education. I am not a big boating fan.

I have had a bunch of jets, and just sold one back at the end of last year.
The springs are strong, you have them in the pedal assembly and also back at the carb. I never had a problem with lifting over waves.
Boats like that are very rough riding and not meant for choppy waters. Runs best on glass like conditions. Jets were not a very good way to transfer power, props are the way to go for speed.
But they are way cool boats with that 70's flair. Loud and gaudy.
I love 'em
