I know how much everybody likes pix, and just so you don't think I've been sitting on my hands since I've gotten it, here are some update pix on the fright pig.

Gone (but not yet sold, apparently) are the red wire wheels and the bubbafied exhaust (the sidepipes are waiting on the final bending of the mounting tabs). Mirrored T-tops replaced with Moonroofs.

Six LED bubble tail lights

Power antena and new (from a '70 Dodge Charger) flip up gas lid

Engine bay with rebuilt carb, new water pump, t-stat, alternator, hydroboost w/chrome master cylinder (the one that came on the car was painted blue?) Not pictured is the mini starter.

Interior was grey, now black with 79-82 seats, silver gauge cluster and shift console (too bad you really can't see the trick shift knob)

Although the flash washed it out, the steering wheel is a perfect match to the paint.

The calander is not my friend, they've already had the second blizzard of the season in Wisconson

Man, it's looking great!
That really is a good looking vehicle. I'm glad to see you are getting things done. I hope to get back to my cars soon.

Interior is shaping up nicely

The cooling system

Front end (Steroids rack and stuff in the bags)

Bits of the rear suspension (That will have to wait until spring)

Inner Pass side rear wheelwell (the PO hit someting big and it blew out the back of the wheelwell and some of the underside of the fender)

(that squigly stuff is the tire treads)

The calander is not my friend, gotta focus.

Awesome car..Love the Bubble lights..I have a 72 custom widebody (project) with 8 taillights..Question, How did you get the Charger gas cap to fit??...I have one and am not really sure how to mount it..Did you have to cut the opening? is it functional? Where did you get the idea for using the charger cap? I saw one on one of the Baldwin Motion cars on the net a few years ago and thought it would look cool.So I bought the cap off ebay and have had it but never tried to put it on..then I saw your car with it and thought wow that really looks good..

Welcome Bananashark. I too was inspired by the Phase III GT with the Charger cap. Right now it is just sitting there. The plan is to put a round piece of fiberglass under the gas cap door, cut about a 1 1/2" circle in the center and use a small piece of pipe and a small piece of fuel hose with two hose clamps to clamp the pipe to the tank. It should be ridged enough to let the cap seal. On my '77 I'm going from Non to vented system and eliminating the return line from the pump and the vent line to the canister. They will be sealed at the tank (which has to come down and get centered to the gas door opening anyway). Last year Corvette Fever did an install of a LeMans style cap and the basic glass prep work is the same.

Looks like we will get a short tail Maco too!!!
Keep up the great work. Marv

Check out the sexy brakes

It now has all its wheels and tires, is off jackstands and is in the garage, cooling system is back in and it RUNS! Too bad it doesn't stop (I think I have a bad master cylinder). The theromstat housing was warped and spit coolent everywhere and the steroids need to be bleed and the lower valence panel/spoiler needs to go on. And some interior details. I'd like to have the 5 link on before Carlisle but time is short.

Man, the brake thingie can be a pita if you let it.
I didn't think I would ever get the wagon finished.

Looks like you should have it ready before carlisle.
Good luck.

Great to see progress Keith.
We could get a widebody reunion at Carlisle year.
Let Rick have his glory with a Mako in widebody heaven.
Or maybe he could bring both...??? }>

Keep up the good work Keith.

Got a new t-stat housing (that wasn't warped) and re-aligned the fan shroud (fan was hitting on the pass. side). So a few electrical issues and the 5 link to go.

I have the shipping conformation on my new TKO 600 5 speed. Should be here next week. The race car didn't sell at auction (well...it did sell, just the boob didn't pay...LOL). So I'll be taking the Guldstrand 5 link out of it and swaping rear suspensions between the widebody and the race car. Should be a running (and stopping) car in a month or so. I've owned it for 13 months and drove it 300'. This is getting old.

That rear end looks like it will be pretty radical.
What gear ratio does it have?

Marv-

The TKO 600 works best with a 3.70. The car had a 3.70 in it but the posi wasn't too healthy. The one pictured was just blueprinted for the race car, but never used.
