The garage is actually smaller than it looks its only 40 x 30.
I do all the work myself, with the exception of some mechanical assistance. I am in no great hurry to finish any car, until now.
I have built about 25 corvettes over the years, It is a hobby only, and the garage is behind my house. I have a real job. David did all the page work, he gets the credit for that, without him, we wouldnt even have a forum.

Text updated... Thanks Randy!

We'll ask you on a monthly basis how it is going }>

I noticed that you removed the exact date from the text... probably hoping to be able to fudge all the way to the end of the month... I will remember and hold you to the 15th :+

Oops! slight mistake, but Lets hope it is on the road before that.
Also was looking around for a drivers side moonroof, and I found a set on ebay. They will probably go for more than I want to spend, thats usually the case.

Randy, Your garage is only a few feet bigger than mine. Isn't it great to have a big garage? They are never big enough though. Your neighbors don't complain about you working there??. 25 vettes- I wish I could say that. I was lucky to have the ones I did. Too much money. Your crankin on the red car . At this rate, you will be done in a year. You do have alot of work to do. I'm surprised with no exhaust, that the engine wasn't seized. How did you find that one??. Were those pic's of it near the fence in Florida?? Are you going to keep the signal lights ,or change them to fill the slots???

No exhaust would not lead to a seized engine, it leads to burnt valves... cold air hitting the hot valves. Just a tech tip :)

A prior board member (from FL) owned the car, he supplied the "older" pictures of the car.

Neighbors complain? About Randy? Not with his reputation ;)

Thanks, I wasn't sure if moisture getting into the heads would create a problem.I was asking about it being stored for years without manifolds on it. Randy's reputation- it's nice to be the king huh??? My neighbors don't complain (except after 11pm) ,because I also work on their cars too. It must be weird for him to see his car in here again, and being worked on completely- by someone else.

Hi, my name is Terry. I see that the note above is kind of old, but I'm curious if you are still selling this car? I have a Corvette now and have always been curious about a Mako Shark car?

I can be reached at spyropo@cogeco.ca as well.

Thanks!

Terry, at this point, I don't think Randy is selling the car anymore. I was made the offer when he first got it, before getting into it's build-up. He is intop it now. I can't speak for him, but I think he will stay with this one, as it is very rare, being one of a small handfull of 'short-tails'. Keep your eyes out here for others. If you have the money, and want to buy a complete custom one done, look at Tony Ta's owners page. He is thinking of selling his yellow shark, or find the topic of "thinking of selling the yellow car"

As I've said before ................. you're a funny guy Marv !

And............. as for the "Red Shark"......... it's tucked away in my garage for the winter ! Actually, The front clip is in one side, all body work complete and awaiting primer. The engine and tranny came out on Friday. Power washed the front frame and readied for disassembly............ gotten alot of work done and alot of pix taken, I'll post them later when I get some time !

Actually, I'm pleased with my progress lately....... especially since I've been so busy at the shop....... and so damn tired. Should be tearing the engine down this week....... so far the hardest thing to remove was the spark plugs ( Thanx, Randy !). Most of the rest of the bolts have been rather easy to loosen, or pretty much loose in the first place......... go figure, after sitting in Florida for so long! No pain , no gain ! LOL

Rick

Marv, I'll be talking to you about "what cam" When I get the tear down done !

Corvettefanatic..................... The Red shark has been finished for about 2 1/2 years now. I got the car from Randy and took over the restoration project !I tried a number of times to contact your father to give updates on the car (and see if he could send me more info and pix of the car) !!! Never did hear back ! Let me know an email address and I can shoot you some pix !

The car is now blue in color......... so you might not have recognized it now ! It's won numerous awards and been in a number of magazines. If you google "Mako Shark II and my name (Rick Walker), you'll find a number of articles and pix of the car !!!

I'm 454Can-Am on this forum......... so you can see all the build pix thru out the forum !

I really love your shark!

I saw it at Carlisle last year and am looking forward to seeing it this year and meeting you in person. I am in the process of completing my 68 Motion Mako Shark Convertible. Just waiting to get the mirrors painted and installed. Should be completed within a couple of weeks. I found some unrestored vintage torque thrust wheels and purchased the slotted brakes and red powder coated calipers for the car. Next on the list is to complete the 69 Mako Shark. All she needs is body and paint and lastly going to work on finishing Gordy's ol' 71 1/2 Mako. Hoping to have a couple of my pals help me caravan to Carlisle to get withall my new shark buddies.

Dino.................. sounds good !!!

I'm looking forward to Carlisle already. Maybe we can hook up for the ride up there.... sort of a Mako caravan !!! LOL I'm going to be repainting my Can-Am this spring, but don't know whether I'll have more than just the 1 car at Carlisle !

Once the weather breaks and we have more time, I want to get up to northern Virginia to see your beauties !!!

If I can hold out, I will have the Maco wagon completed.
One of my friends has expressed interest in driving my Can Am to Carlisle so I too may have more than one car there... Just hoping my wagon gets done... working on it just about every day but the list keeps on growing on thing I need to do.. we will see.
