See if your connections there can ping you when the Manta Ray comes back on display. I need to see that car in real life. Maybe it will be at Carlisle again...

Will do what I can for ya and let ya know..can email a couple of people that will have a schedule of cars leaving and coming into the NCM for display.

I talked to an old dude about it one year. He said that GM took it back, because it needed to be painted. But then I heard from people afterward that they saw it on display at Carlisle.

I wonder how much it would cost them to restore the paint on that...

Some of these old customs have very cool paint jobs with a few blemishes here & there. And then when they get redone, they lose a LOT of their charm. Laquer paint can give such a beautiful deep look that is hard to mimic.

The Manta Ray was at Ecklers Show on special display a couple of years ago and a friend of my stayed late enough on Sunday to be able to sit in it and start it up...

I have some pics of the manta too. I have seen it at NCM and in Carlisle. I talked with the GM guys about the car. At that time, the paint looked bad. It looked better as a shark.
