Does anyone on this site know if there is a magazine or news letter devoted to nothing but the Custom Corvette community where owners can add photos of their MaCo's and other custom corvettes and tell the history behind the cars. If there is one please let me know If there isnt one I think it would be a good idea to start like a MaCo Magazine. Where people can tell the trials and errors with their cars and share moments that are both good and bad , like finding a car then selling it and finding it again just things like that. Please let me know. C.J. Kimmeth
mako shark magazine

I've thought about it a few times... I don't think it would work though... extremely limited audience as been proven here. Remember the magazine named Shark Quarterly? It catered to just the C3 crowd, which is much larger then the Maco or even Custom crowd, and it went under.

Plus, the evidence strongly shows that the market for custom Corvettes these daze is extremely small.

Hey david I sent Shawkrider some good photos of mako I mako II and manta Ray's GM concept , I have so many photos that I dont think a lot of people have seen , of MaCo's and im itching to share them with you guys at the site , but cant do to the fact I dont have a scanner , but if you will let me know your mailing address I can send you some amazing new material , Articles , magazine pictures , actual 60's photos of MaCo's from the Pennsylvania area that were taken by my father. If you would like more information for the site let me know , because I have more then enough to keep you guys interested for a while , I have hundreds of corvette magazines corvette news , corvette fever , vette power , vette magazine , etc... etc... I have a lot of stuff I havent seen on the site yet and nothing compared to some of the stuff I have found , so plese e mail me at cjmakoii@aol.com or post a message on here and let me know if you want any thing.

We would love to see that stuff, especially real cars, instead of the factory gm units. Not that there's anything wrong with that, I just like to see real world cars.
I am sure that if you sent them to David, he would post them.

Things have gotten lost like that before... once upon a time an important person sent some crucial information & photos to Tyla only... now that person (Steve K.) is probably dead... and none of the rest of us will ever get to know about it...
Please send stuff to me and I can share it in all its glory on the board... Plus, I can send the photos & magazines back after I scan them.

And I can provide you with some big prints (13" x 19") for your wall, as well as digitally remastered articles & memorabilia... and large photo archive on DVD.

Hey David, I was speaking with CJMako2 via privet email and told him
that I would scan the photos he sent to me and post them here on the
site but, that I was only interested in the GM Concepts.
For the Maco related stuff, he could send to you if he wants to, I
have no problem with that.
I'm sorry to hear about the Tyla thing, I was unaware of that. I wonder
what kind of information it was that was lost?
Is the contact info you have for Steve K. still correct, or you've tried
with no results?
I remember posts from Tyla, what happend? I know he no longer posts.
Do you think if I contact Tyla as an enthusiast Maco fan inquiring about the Steve K material, if he had it, you think he might share with me?
I'd like to think so but, then again I could be completely off about
this whole subject and not know what I'm getting into, Plus I wouldn't
want to make anybody mad by doing so but, if it may help gather the
lost material it may be worth it.
Let me know how off I am or if it sound like an idea...

McBrain, I'm going to breath for a while before I make a response to your message... One thing I will say right now is, do NOT contact Tyla. This is a public forum, if he wants to post he will.
David

Have you scanned the photos and sent them to me to be placed on the site?

I recieved photo copies from the magazine only. I will have to scan them
and then send them to you via postal mail or by jpg files. I believe if
I had recieved the Magazines these copies came from, they would be
better quality though. Making scans from copies is the best I can do I
guess, unless I recieve the mags, then send them back via UPS.
I'm only recieving the GM Concept material though and not the Maco
related stuff. I told CJ he could send you the Maco stuff because I knew
thats what you wanted.
I have been speaking with him about this for the past five months and
I finaly recieved them in the mail today.
Thanks CJ
What ever I get, I'll try to make High Res JPG's from and send them your
way David.

A big tip... never send important things by UPS... much better to do it by FedEx or even the USPS.
