We're registered for Fun Field and booked at Shippensburg...

Hope that the mess I had last year will be mostly fixed on the '73 by Wednesday, August 24th, because it's headed east that day. Due to circumstances, rather than me doing the work, it is in the shop getting the clutch replaced, oil pan and fuel pump replaced, and maybe headers ceramic coated. Should have it back next week. Told him that the headers can wait for now if it will hold the job up from getting done by next Friday.

Mary Lou called Idah the other day and is so excited that she can hardly contain herself... You go Girl!!! :D

See you guys there!!! 31 days and counting...

Great Marv!
I was beginning to worry since I have not heard from you in a coons age.
Worked on the wagon saturday and hopefully i should have it going by Carlisle. My life is so different now... no time for anything.
Maybe we can all catch up in a month.
BTW I saw Gus Last week, first time since Carlisle. He wont be able to make the trip this year...finances and his Wal Mart Schedule are going to prevent it.
I just Hope I can be there.

Headers are on hold for now...they had a heck of a time getting the car on the lift because it sits so low and because of the headers/sidepipes. They can't pull the headers while it is on the lift, so I will do it later. The clutch, fuel pump, and oil pan go in today.

Too bad about Gus' schedule...Idah has to put in for Carlisle a year in advance to make sure no one else gets the time slot. Since Sam died, the company has gone to crap...people are just numbers now. Tell Gus we will miss him...but glad he has a job. We quit drinking Pepsi products...;)

We have one new Vette coming from car club at a different time than us, so they may stop by after they get to Carlisle.

Looking forward to seeing the gang again!!! 27 days and counting...:D

BTW Rick...what is your schedule and how many cars will you have there???

Marv................... I've been meaning to call you, but keep getting busy and then its midnite ! Working on the mako now replacing the tranny pan to try to stop that pesky leak ! Wanna tune the "BadMan more to try to get some half decent mileage on the trip to Carlisle. Went from 1200 cfm and the dual carbs to 675 cfm and my mileage went from 14 mpg to 12mpg....................... bass ackwards !!!!!!! Playing with the air bleeds........ so I hope that will do the trick !

I pondered back and forth about getting the Can-Am up there too and decided that 1 vette up there would be enough.............. I want to enjoy the show and not have to worry about keeping 2 vettes clean ! I'm glad I made this decision since this last Monday I wrecked the Can-Am................. well, sort of !!!

Went down to DMV to get antique tags and on the way back, I hit an unsee-able dip in the road and ate a deep gouge out of the asphalt with the bellhousing................ glad I've got a thick steel blowproof bellhousing !!!!!!!!!!! The impact about jarred my teeth out, but everything seemed okay.............. clutch worked okay along with the shifter and oil pressure was fine along with no leaks !!!

The car was running hot (thanx to 2 radiator fans not working !), so I came on home. Checked the bellhousing and could see asphalt on the front of it...... but everything else looked okay ! After I put it in the garage, I realized the center console was popped up over half an inch.......... checked it and found the screw holes were all busted out and stuff inside the console were damaged.............. the impact jammed the tranny ass end up into the tunnel ! Popped the hood and found some fiberglass on the air cleaner............ it had jammed up and split my hood in half.......... about an 8 inch split !!

I'm not a happy camper........... but I guess it could have been worse. Everything is okay under the car....didn't break any mounts, just bent the tranny bracket upwards and then settled back down...had to put some new bolts on the base of the bracket !!!

So Marv............. as an answer to your question --- Susan and I plan on getting there Wednesday and we'll have her Stratus to drive back and forth with. Hopefully, Dallas can bring my showboard hood up.... since Susan refuses to drive my van !!!

Really looking forward to seeing you guys.............

Rick
