Jeffrey, Welcome to the forum ! I'm sorry to say I never met your father, but I did get one of his few short tail mako's a couple of months ago. The car has been sitting for a few years, so it's gonna take some time to get her back in good shape. Wish me luck!
I look forward to this thread, so I can learn more about him (and his cars) too! Rick

Welcome Jeffery, i didnt know your dad either but i do have what is believed to be 1 of his earlier Sharks. the blue coupe on wayne fields owners page.

Jeffrey, I'll jump in and say welcome also! I knew your father for a few years. He and I were working on my, as he put it,"Miami Edition Camaro". I also gave him the last shark he ever owned. The primered one that I understand he sold to a man in Rhode Island. I worked with him a few times a year on my car, and I will say, he was one of the nicest people I have ever met. Really cool too. We would shoot the breeze, and show me the newest projects that he was working on, like the air ionizer that he was doing for the casino's here in Connecticut. I saw alot of his work that he had done. He wanted me to move there at one point, so I could work with him on the Mustang/ 50' Merc project. Unfortunately for me, I already had a job. I would have loved to work next to him in his shop. He was actually supposed to come to my wedding with your mother, but something came up, and he couldn't make it. I am deeply sorry about his passing, and wish you my regards. He was a great man, and I often think of him, and wish he were still around to hang out with. I still have my Camaro sitting in the corner of my garage (and looking for someone to finish it), and it reminds me of him when I see it. I surely hope you stay with this site, and if you ever want to chat- feel free to contact me. Again, WELCOME !!, Scott M.

To Car Guy (Scott M): Thanks for your kind words. Wow, you remember the IONIZER. Did you get to see the Mongoose in his shop?
To rockcrusher67: Send me a picture.
To Andy76: Sadly, I do not have a Maco, but hope to remedy that void soon.
Enjoy your Holiday.

Jeff, yes, I remember alot of his "projects". I was there when he was finalizing its operation, and he actually showed me it working. Pretty cool. I wanted to get my hands on one of his 'atomizer' that he patened back in the day, that allowed a car to get almost 100 miles per gallon. Do you remember that one. I'm wondering where his yellow Mustang 'Wagon' is now??. I went and saw him showing that at the World Of Wheels Show in Mass. years ago. He finally was setting up his offices upstairs in Ipswitch, and lined up the walls with pictures of his past developments, and articles, and drawings. It was awesome. (Man I miss him). The Mongoose was locked up in a garage somewhere, where no-one was allowed to know it's location, due to the court case. I surely hope your mother took the reins on that one, because he had just won the battle against Dodge, and he was going to fight for past payment, when he passed away. I never got to hear how it finally turned out. I would like to know what happened to his other projects. Did anyone take over??Your brother??. I was upset about the whole handling of it, as I lost over $20,000 when he died. I was forced to sign papers just to get my car out of the garage, also losing another Maco Shark body in the deal. It was all part of my contract with him. There has been talk of the molds from the car in a trailer somewhere. I have a newspaper article with him on the cover fighting the auto makers. It's pretty neat. Anyway- enough for now, I don't want to bore you. Keep in touch.

Well...it looks like we may have a couple of family members here...Welcome Don & Jeff.
There are several folks here that have Macos, so hopefully the site can be a benefit to your search Jeff. I didn't know John, but I'm one of the "custom" guys that have way too many projects and may eventually have one of the "Silva's".
Hope to see both of you posting...and again, welcome. Marv B.

Id like to put it on my website to show how the originals were made.
