Actually, it was a little scary to think about when I pulled the front clip off the mako. All that holds the front clip on are 4 small 1/4 inch bolts that connect to a cross-bar which the hood pivots on. The two on the passengers side came out with no problem............. but the hex heads were stripped out on the drivers side. When I drilled the heads, I noticed they drilled rather easily............. then I realized that these two were brass bolts -- soft brass 1/4 inch bolts ! No problems for 30 some years.......... so I guess the bracket they go thru adds alot of strength !!!

These are just some pix of the front end: with.......... and without the front clip installed. More pix and updates later ! Rick

I have a slight feeling that this car will look pretty bad-ass when it is done. I like the flares on it too. Keep up the progress and keep sending pics!! NIce!!

Wow!!! You're really making progress!!! I hope you put something stronger than 1/4" brass bolts back in...like 1/4" nylon tap-its...when you drive the little nail into the nylon spreader it splits then holds like glue...heh, heh, heh. Keep the pattern as I may want to make a flip front on the widebody and don't want to miss any of the safety updates...;)

How's that radical mouse motor coming along? Did you get all the parts yet? If you have time and a few extra $$$$, get it balanced, as it will give you peace of mind when you miss a gear at 12,000 and the rev limiter isn't hooked up yet...:D

Good job!!! BTW...when do you sleep? 00:31 AM is way after my beddy by time...

I just had to add these, as I had flashbacks when I saw your pictures. Looks familiar, huh??? Kind of funny. Ps- notice the frame in the background with the Z-28 mags on it- from my 1970 GTO Judge. Wish I still had that one. Then the motors in the back of the other pic- The Judge motor, and my 383 Stroker motor that I put in my other Z car.

Scott, its amazing how similiar those pix are............ except yours is full up front and my engine bay is empty ! Right now, I'm in the middle of rebuilding the motor......... starting to put it back together right now. Got all the parts in on X-mas eve, so I'm hoping to have it back together withen the next couple of weeks....................... then it will have to sit while I work on rebuilding the front end. I'll post more pix when I get a little farther along ! Rick
