I like what you've done with the nose...
Looks sharp and adds depth to the front.

Lookin' good bro!
I'm going down on Wednesday the 14th until sunday the18th.
You've got the Cell #, so give me a call, maybe we can hook up.
Have made a ton of changes to the Road king, counting a 5K engine build, it sure is sweet!

Hottest day of the year today............................. got more sanding done on the front end. Starting to look like a car now...........especially with water on her !!! Hope I can get her to shine like this when the paint goes on !!!!!!!!!!! Rick

Sure is looking good...with a finish like that in primer, it will look much better in paint.
When you get done with your Mako, I'll buy the drinks and you can help me on my widebody!!! :D

No problem Marv................ as long as you're arms are strong enough to help on my '73 too !!!!!!!!!!!!
Got the polyester primer on Monday afternoon in my new work room/party tent/spray room. The looks keep changing on the front end/doors/t-tops. Getting the rear ready for the epoxy primer now............... as I said before --- busy summer !!!
Put the Can-Am in the Vette Round up a couple weeks ago............ took second place. This weekend I'm entering the AACA show at RIR, so I'm definitely being pulled in different directions...... fun with the Can-Am, but the mako keeps calling me to work on her !!! Rick

So...when do you sleep???
I like your new work room, but the hurricane straps may need some help...:D
Looks like alot of wet sanding goin' on...you probably have callouses in places that you never thought would have hard skin...x(
Keep up the pace you are on and she will be ready for Carlisle.

Hey Rick-
Maybe you answered this question before and I just missed it, but who's nose is that?
Thats a Silva Short tail car.
It is 100% correct as far as the body panels go for a Silva unit.
"Randy"
I never knew the Silva had such a high rise to the hood. /:\
I never knew the Silva had such a high rise to the hood. /:\
Thats one of the things I really like about this mako............. the hood doesn't have the double box like the rest of them ! That angle really shows how high the hood is.......... can't wait till the final paint is accenting all those curves......SWEET !!!

Rear end/body is changing looks............... the base coat of epoxy primer has now been sprayed !!! Amazing how getting a solid color can change looks so much.

Rick!!! You are putting the rest of us to shame! Sure looks great!
You're right...does look alot different with a solid color.
Your hard work is showing and the project is coming together.
I like your idea for portable shelter...may have to try that myself.
Keep up the great work. Marv

Rick!!! You are putting the rest of us to shame!
If anything he's making us look better because he is a member
of this site and he has a car coming together very nicely so far.
No doubts the ending results will be very sweet indeed.
Just ribbin ya a little, I knew you meant it in a good way.
I have those 68 Firebird tail lights too, so your stickin to those
lights? I plan a custom job... Once I can pick myself up off the
ground. Divorce sucks.

I hadn't thought about it in that way, but you're right Bryan,
members like Rick & Carl and others are actually focused enough to
get work done on their projects. Hopefully more Mako and custom Vette owners will stop by and become members of MS2 as a result of progress being done on these fine specialty vehicles.
Now...if I can just get past working on the '75 all of the time,
I may get back to the widebody...
Gotta focus...:D

Thanx for the compliments guys.............. I keep trying to push forward! Filled thousands of pinholes and block sanded........ primed again this past weekend. Still got more pinholes to fill... coming slowly. Stripped the paint off the louvers on Monday -- I knew they were going to be a PITA, so I put it off, but it went pretty well. Had some fiberglass repair to do and now I'm filling, sanding and smoothing.......... starting to look pretty good !
Bryan................ keep the faith -- look for a lawyer, you've got to. Divorce was the best thing I ever did..........you've put up with too much crap for too long ! Life gets better !!! Rick

Rick,
The car is reallly lookin' good.
I am glad you are working on it, its a car that definately is worth doing right.
hurry up and finish, then you can work on mine!:+

Damn Randy, you beat me to the punch! I was hoping to get next in line.
Car looks fantastic, sits right, has a great aggressive stance/flares/gills, I love it.
Got the inner fender wells repaired............ someone had cut the backs out to open a stuck hood.
I want to thank Mack Massengill (CorvetteMack on ebay !) for help with this. I've gotten a bunch of parts from him over the last couple of years and he gave me the rear piece from an right inner fender for the cost of shipping alone ! Thanx Mack !!!
I used the top section to replace what was missing and then used the bottom section (turned upside down) to repair the drivers side. Turned out pretty well !
;)
