I went back and forth on this one, but it will happen and will be ready within the first months of 2010,

As some know I am building a Mako convertible and didn't want to cut up the rear clip for my project so I paid my Glass guru to pull a mold off the Motion Mako rear I have,

Then Mike, my Glass man decided rather than put his Greenwood Daytona kit ( Yes, real Greenwood )
On his c3 he would rather go old school and do a Mako so the Motion Mako front clip I have will have a mold pulled too,

Cost of materials and Mikes labor is partly out of my pocket, Mike is of course doing it cut rate so he can get free parts from my molds,

What we will offer for sale is the rear clip full or any part of the rear, for example the rear bumper cap or the rear louvered tear drop,

The front clip will be offered raw shell as the cheapest way to buy it and if the buyer wants inner structure then that price can be worked out,
The front clip kit will include the side fenders either smooth or with buyers choice of reversed 69 gills or 73 style side vents,

It will include if the buyer wants them Mako inner wheel wells and a cowl filler panel,

Price depends on how much the buyer wants,

At this time we believe we can offer the rear clip for around 800.00 and the full front clip package for around 1500.00 this beats the original costs of these parts huh?

If you have interest you can hit me up direct at The13bats@aol.com

Many thanks
Cheers,
P.

I only forgot one rat hair in the tuna salad,
We have no information about transporting such items,

We are located in Orlando Fl and I will start looking into transport companies after the first of the year but any leads on that would help.

If you build it.................. they will come .........
to you, that is !

I think a lot of people will be willing to come pick it up directly from you. I know crating can be a PITA, but that can be worked out........ hopefully without too much trouble. I've got a friend who's had cars transported across the country at a fair price...... not sure if they'll do crates or not. I'll talk to Dallas and see who it was and let you know ! Rick

When I bought that front clip from motion it was packed in a huge cardboard box, no bracing, the rest of the parts were loose in the box, it sucked out loud.
The neighborhood kids took the box as a fort,

I/We are just doing this as a hobby and just offering the parts to offset mold costs, Mike will build his C3 into a Mako and place it up for sale and do another,

Dp You think there would be a demand for a DVD, Mike has wanted to do that for years,
A down to earth walk thru on making the mold from a part then making the part from the mold,
What would a fair price for such a DVD be?

I bought a set of dvds a couple of years ago on how to fiberglass speaker enclosures. Pretty detailed stuff.
I think it was a 2 dvd set, and I believe it was around 50 bucks.

I have found a lot of great info on utube and it is all free. Not that what your friend would produce wouldnt be better but with all the free info on line it might be hard to get people to pay for something they think they can get for free.

Yep...Thats why I asked what it would be worth I knew not much,
I was guessing about 15.00
However,
Mike worked for both Barris and Greenwood and is a phone call away which does add a lot to his offering to sweeten his pot.

Yea, technical support would mean a bunch if it were offered along with the dvd.

Bats,
Been meaning to get back to you with shipping info................... don't have any !

I talked with my friend about that transport company he used and he told me they were so particular about shipping cars, they won't touch anything else. He said you could have absolutely nothing extra in the car or trunk, only the spare tire. He had to ship his tool box and other small stuff by ups since they wouldn't ............. I guess that cuts down on insurance claims for miscellaneous mishaps.

If I come across something else, I'll let you know ! Rick

Well...we are into Feb and I wanted to have the mako parts ready to go and they are not,
I could spew lots of smoke and mirrors but the truth is I have to pay Mike out of pocket for the molds so my cash flow is holding it up...I had things I was forced to spend my toad pelts on.

I'm sure, given your passion for this project, that the final product will be well worth the wait.

Yep, making molds is very time consuming and quite costly even if you have a part to make them from. A whole lot worse if you have to make the part to start with.

Its not as bad as I might have made it sound,
I am banked up with Mike to around 7K
But that isn't cash and it takes the cash to buy the gel coat resin and mat,
then these are big parts and the molds are multi part,

The other thing is I promised my wife I would not install the mako front clip on my car until I have the modded clip that is on it sold,

It's nothing too radical...73-79 style with shaved marker lights and molded in front bumper...the headlights are the ecklers rectangle pop ups and I cant express how much better they look than round....
I post some pictures...
