Johnny- Its your car- Your the winner- ding ding ding. Sounds like your car in a different color- or not.....
Hey everyone, Need help , does anyone have a magazine article on the yellow manta ray , there were 3 built , pennington has the red one , awesome car, All 3 cars were done in 1973 . I'd like to see if the owner of the yellow car was from NJ. I have been told one of the 3 Manta rays built at motion was wrecked and is not known. I'm searching for ANY articles from 1972 to 1976 on any yellow Motion vette , manta ray or shark. Could be car and driver magazine. Thanks , Johnny Maco :)

By Manta Ray, you must mean the GT front end and the Maco rear, correct?

Haven't asked at Rabbit's site...

BTW---This is an interesting conversation about the GT...
David
Yeah, hey Johnny, Davids last post has a link to all the info on the GT
your looking for and their where 10 original Baldwin Motion Phase III
GT's not 3 and they where sold through the Baldwin Chevrolet Dealership.
The rest of the GTs are just Motion conversions. Plus, I think you can
still order the conversion package from some after market company
online.
David, I think I've seen somthing about the GT Conversion package at one
point on this site. If you find something, can you post a link please...
Thanks

Everything I've ever seen says that there was only one Motion-built Manta Ray and that is the one that Pennington has.
David
Im taking about the Motion Phase III GT. Now if thats what your calling
a Manta Ray. Take another look at the thread "Baldwin/Motion Phase III
GT Corvettes" on
www.rabbitstoys.com
They explain the whole thing.
Now if your talking about something else
well I just don't know, I haven't read
anything about the Motion Manta Ray as of yet.
Or, It's possible that I'm just wrong, about the whole thing. I'd just,
chalk it up as lack of knowledge probably. I thought I read the posts on
that thread right but, could of just misunderstood.
You tell me...

Now & then I like to stay on topic... I'm only directing my conversation here to Johnny and what he has asked.
David
Manta Ray
Phase III GT nose
Shark (almost) rear end.
I too have heard there were 3 built.
I believe a car sold at Baldwin Chevrolet that was converted by Motion is no different from any other car built at motion.
My .02
"Randy"
Probably is only 3 of the Manta Ray, just thought he was refering to the GT.
I guess I was off, thinking that Johnny what talking about the phase III GT.
Sorry
Back to mag search, I'm done.

Ok Guys , stay with me here , I'm not talking about a phase 3 GT , I'm talking about a 1973 Baldwin Manta ray like Ray penningtons red one. There were 3 built . Rays red car , an orange one with no side stripe and a yellow car. The orange car was in alot of magazines from the era, the yellow car was wrecked , maybe. The orange car is missing in action. I'm wanting to find a magazine with the yellow manta ray , OR , a yellow shark with a rear section just like the manta ray had. Also , in the article the car may be blue and silver two tone , 454 , 4 speed , black button tuck interior just like a phase 3 GT . I appreciate anyones help and am glad there are people who love these old vettes as much as I do. I am Johnny Maco and I approve this message , Randy , Mrs. Silva called , she wants johns short tail car back..............

Cars Corvette 1975 Annual is the one with the orange Manta Ray on the cover.
See https://makoshark2.com/community/threads/2879/magazines
Are you sure that 1976 has it as well?

David , the 76 cover shows an orange manta ray , a gold and white mid 60's roadster with a hardtop and a back view of a multi color 63 coupe, I'll try and scan the cover etc,. John
