Yes, I am still working on my car... I've been contemplating my grill detail for over a year now. I you may recall I built a full-length aluminum grill that I really liked, but it obscured my headlamp treatment (which I love), and it weighed almost 25 pounds... it was …

Cut my rear window template tonight

I cut a template for my rear window tonight from 1/4" plywood. The channel I built to receive it is almost flat enough; I have to add about 3/16" of material to make it planar.

A glass shop can make it out of either laminated safety glass or tempered glass, what ever is appropriate.

I lowered the car as far as it would reasonably go with the adjustment in the suspension, and it still leaves me about five inches from the tire to the fender well lip. I think I'll lower the fender lip about 2 1/2" more in back, and about 3 1/2" in front... don't want to go too far the other way, but I think it needs every bit of this amount.

That looks AWESOME !!!!! I should have let you do mine !

Cut my rear window template tonight

I ended up cutting 2 coils out of my front springs to get it to sit down where I liked it. The rear has the "Shark Bite" rear coil-over set up , so I can adjust the height where ever I want it ! The sidepipes are a little low....... and the oil pan is 2 1/2 to 3 inches off the ground, but I haven't really had any issues with it.

My Can-Am frame sits higher from the ground, but the front spoiler is only a fist off the ground and I scrape it all the time !

Painted my engine... pics with cross ram on it

I painted my engine the correct Chevy orange tonight; finally got away from that gaudy purple my engine builder uses on all his "signature" builds.

I bought linkage for my Edelbrock STR-10 Cross Ram intake; it was supposed to be a bolt-on with that manifold and Holley carbs, but that was not the case at all. I had to buy some other components from our local Ace Hardware (God's gift to hardware, I'm not kidding), and I was able to get it set up correctly to operate the carbs in synch. I'm certain fine-tuning will be in order later, but this was a good start.

I've been thinking about making an open top/common base.dual element "cowl induction"-styled air cleaner for it for more of a factory look, but I couldn't help buying a pair of old-school spun aluminum velocity stack air cleaners... I've always like the look, and for now, that base is covered. ;-)
