Hi all together.
Just in case you meant I gave up, no way.
Just havent hsd to much time this last year.
The birdcage is back on the frame and all stands on own wheels.
Lately I worked on my moulds and repaired some broken edges.
Today the rear mould went to the glass guy.
He will clean up and give it a good waxing.
Then on wednesday will dive into glass.
Will go there on wednesday evening to take a look and do some pictures.
Maybe can help also a bit with minor things to learn something.
Will post tomorrow pictures of the reparation of the mould.
Took me qyite a few hours, completely underestimatdd the work.
Imagine, after at lesst 30 years will pop out a new rear end from these moulds.
Can hardly wait.

Maybe some of you seen the Corvette Report from Scott Teeters and realised that in 2 Reports our build up got featured. I admit, that was a pretty cool moment seeing our build in the Report. To read the reports: 1st Corvette Report http://www.corvettereport.com/motion-maco-shark-si …

Everywere were are dark spots i put filler.
Had to fix a lot of edges and on some corners to build up missing pieces.

Still it's not perfect, but good to go.
This was all done during last week and last monday.

The fiberglass guy received the mould on monday evening.
Soon will leave and going to see how far he is allready.
He planned to be ready with all till tomorrow evening.
Then put it in the oven till friday to bake all in and tear the panel on friday in the daytime.

Will make this evening a few pictures and post tomorrow.

I'll constuct a separate panel for the license plate.
Will be in european license plate format and gets bonded in after Steve teared a new mould from my rearend.

Was thinking to make also another separate panel with a sunk in Mako script. This could also get bonded in beetwen the rear lights. In the sunken Mako script area could be screwd the metal Mako Shark script. Think could look pretty cool.

Hi Volks,

i just say......sniff sniff ==> sticky sticky

Right side and middle (boattail) is in the 1st pictures allready layered with 6 layers of glass, gets something about 4mm thickness.
Made the fotos while glassing the left side.
The glass guy did put not too much hardener that he has more time before it cures. Hugh task to glass such a big piece manually at one time.

It's just pretty cool, and actually i like very much to smell the resin: :+

Short update:

The rearend is finished and came out of the mould with just minor flaws which easily can be fixed. Yeeah!

Also the mould itself remained only with minor flaws.

My biggest concern was that the rearend would have be "smashed" out of the mould with force. :-(

I will post tommorrow pictures of the new born rearend.

After 36 years a new rearend came out of the mould constructed in 1977.
I let speek the piece itself.

But yes, had a BIG grin in my face. :7 :7 :7

Thanks Marv and Mike.

No no, the producing will be done by Steven.
What i can tell you allready, the price which is asked from Bohannon and Motion Performance is high. For me was all the time too high as i did a bit a material research and calculation, but now i know for sure it is.

I know now the exact cost of material and labourtime.

If ever somebody will need panels there will be a good solution for the future. And most important, out of moulds with which good pieces can be produced knowing they dont warp and arent twisted. Cause that can happen by old moulds not built good enough to remain good such long time.
Me and Steven were quite astoneshed how good actually the piece is when it came out of the mould.

Knowing that, my best decision was to buy all those moulds for the complete kit.
It was a bit a gamble as i didn't know the exact condition of the moulds. But the risk was minimised as those moulds was built in 1977 by the best known Corvette fiberglass guru from germany.

Now I try to describe you my feelings I had this evening seeing my rearend the 1st time in nature out of the mould.
And now please dont laugh !

"He wandrred around her with glacy eyes, discovering it from all angles.
Then finally he dared to touch her, first gentle.
Then more intens to discover every part of her sexy curves...."

I told you not to laugh, dont want to hear any slippery comments.
If you have them in your mind, go in your garage and check your lady to calm down.

This which then dont feel something should probably change the brand and type of car. LOL

Dont take my words to serious, I am thrild.
